Inside Gaultier’s Stylish World

Jean Paul Gaultier's fashion story as the world's most controversial couturier is being told in a new exhibition -The Fashion World of Jean Paul Gaultier: From the Sidewalk to the Catwalk - opening in Brooklyn, New York, tomorrow.

Alongside Madonna's original cone-bra bustier tops (and tops that showcased, if not coverered, her famous assets), are pieces from many of his other collections - as well as a few special items that have never been displayed before, including a jumpsuit worn by Beyoncé Knowles and a dress first worn by androgynously beautiful model Andrej Pejic.

The 150-piece exhibition - which has previously been displayed in Madrid, Rotterdam, Stockholm, Montreal, Dallas and San Francisco - will run in Brooklyn from tomorrow until February 23. And the good news is that, after New York, its next stop will be London, with an exhibition at the Barbican Gallery in April 2014.
