Is Girls Costume Designer Considering a Fashion Label Launch?

A fashion collection isn't entirely off the cards for Girls costume designer Jenn Rogien, but she confesses that costume design is, for her, first and foremost.

"Never say never, but my strength is costume design, literaly analysis. With fashion designers I really admire how it all comes from their mind. I'm more of a storyteller, I love making things," says Rogien , confessing that when she was young all of her school projects somehow turned into making clothes. She went on to study chemical engineering at undergraduate level but spent a lot of time in the theathre as well, attributing her career ascent to being in the right place at the right time. She assisted on The Good Wife and them met the producer of Girls through a friend at dinner. Since then, she's made a name for her ability to tap into real fashion and put it on screen in an entirely beliavable and suitably aspirational way.

How does she do it? "My go-to is thrift stores, but I'm hesitan to say which ones," she says, though does give up  New York's renowed beacon's closet - which can't really be a secret anyway - and Atlantis Attic.

And while Girls is an undoubted hit, she notes Mad Men and Game of Thrones for their respective costume wardrobes. If she could have worked on the wardrobe for any other project, what would it have been?

"Something that hasn't been written yet," she says diplomatically.
