Orlando Bloon has opened up about his split from Miranda Kerr for the first time. The couple - who have a two-year-old son, Flynn - announced news of their separation last week, following their three-year marriage.
"Life sometimes doesn't work out exactly as we plan or hope for, but fortunately we're adults," Bloom said. "I'm 36 now, she's 30 and we're professionals and we love and care about each other and we most of all love our son."
The pair said in a joint statement released last Friday that they have been "amicably separated for the past few months". They were spotted together earlier this week, happily strolling through New York with their young son, pictured left.
"We love each other. We're a family. We're going to be in each other's lives for the rest of our lives," Bloom told American talk show host Katie Couric. "There's no question, for the sake of our son and everything else, we're going to support one another and love each other as parents to Flynn."
