Julie de Libran, one of Louis Vuitton's driving forces, has left her position as womenswear studio director. The brand's new creative director, Nicolas Ghesquiere, is thought to have hired several new names to the design team, usurping De Libran's position.
De Libran was considered Jacobs's second-in-command, working closely with the designer on Vuitton's womenswear, accessories, campaigns and shows until his departure from the brand last October. It is not known whether she will take another role at the firm or whether she'll join another brand within the LVMH stable, WWD reports. She joined the brand in 2008 as a design director, having previous worked at Prada, Versace and Gianfranco Ferré.
A spokesperson for Vuitton declined to comment.
