Paul Smith has hired Jonathan Saunders to consult on his womenswear line, if rumours this morning are to be believed. A spokesperson for either designer could not be reached.
The two would be a well-placed match - both have a love of vibrant colour and graphic prints, as well as simple silhouettes. Smith's boy-meets-girl, finely tailored classics infused with Saunders's fresh and original eye would make a pleasing pairing. Saunders - who is considered one of London's leading fashion lights - would also benefit from learning about Smith's international empire, which includes 300 stores around the world and a huge following in Japan.
